Nike’s Birth Traces Back to ’72 Winnebago Coach

Legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield recently invited Quickstrike‘s Russ Bengtson and DJ Clark Kent to Nike Campus in Beaverton, Ore., to talk, well, anything and everything Nike related.

The trio convened in a 1972 Winnebago parked smack in the middle of the Nike Innovation Kitchen, the same year and make model that Nike first started selling shoes from in its early days. Tinker waxes poetic on the humble beginnings of the footwear behemoth and gives us an inkling to just how few people have actually been in that historic Winnebago.
