Deerwood RV Park in Eugene, Oregon is a beautiful gem near the I-5 corridor. Opened in 2000, Deerwood is a quiet park with a charm few other parks can match.
Known far and wide for its immaculate landscaping, the park has been the recipient of numerous awards and commendations including Woodall’s coveted 5-Diamond Rating. With sites nestled among manicured lawns, ponds, and ancient trees it’s no wonder Deerwood was aptly named “Eugene’s Luxury RV Park” by Lifestyles Magazine.
In 1997 Mike and Sally Brown purchased a beautiful 10 acre parcel of land that included pastures, ponds and some of the largest trees in the region. Their hope was to build the most modern RV Park in the area.
Mike, a landscape designer and contractor, had been researching the growing RV industry and its new king-sized motor coaches and 5th wheels. In addition to studying the existing parks, he interviewed RV owners to determine what they expected from a park. After years of designing they transformed their 10 acres into beautiful, quiet RV refuge, a rare find, even in today’s luxury RV parks.
A drive through the park is indeed a drive through a park, not a parking lot. Birds singing high up in the oaks and firs, squirrels busy collecting nuts, lawns everywhere, and a waterfall that greets you near the entrance. Yet, Deerwood’s services are as excellent as the view. Many sites can easily accommodate the largest luxury RVs and dependable WiFi, cable, water, sewer, and electric service are all included at every site.
In addition, there is a central picnic area for events, horseshoe pits, private showers, modern laundry, and a nature trail that winds itself around the park. Concierge services are available if you’re looking for details on local wine-tasting, golf, or eating out. The park also has some large pull-thrus that are guaranteed to fit the bold 45-footer with car trailer in tow.
Situated in a quiet country setting yet 5 to 10 minutes to a host of Eugene’s top destinations, Deerwood is not only beautiful and modern, but very convenient. Drive or bike 3 miles down a country road and you’ll find yourself at Mount Pisgah, Lane County’s largest park. Sitting at 2,300 acres the park is a natural retreat complete with hiking trails, an arboretum, and botanical garden. Head Southwest and you’ll find some of the crown jewels of the Northwest Wine Country: King Estate, Sweet Cheeks, and Iris wineries. Care for more urban fare? The University of Oregon is a quick 10 minute drive from the park, as is the heart of downtown Eugene. Access to shopping couldn’t be easier with some of the largest malls in Oregon just a short drive away.
Whatever you came for, one thing remains the same: Deerwood is a place one should consider when visiting Eugene.
Perhaps one of the most refreshing things about Deerwood is not that it has been a hands-down success of an RV Park, which it has been, but that it remains a family owned and operated park. In an age where many parks are owned by larger chains, Deerwood is a good example of the benefit of staying local. The staff is exceptionally friendly, attentive to guests’ needs and always willing to go the extra mile, whether it is assistance in parking or help in finding RV services.
